Wrap up warm!

Reports of temperatures dropping and the country bracing for the first cold snap of 2012 – we hope you have your hot chocolates, gloves and woolly hats at the ready! We thought we try and warm things up with a reminder of our extra accessories you can purchase to ensure your little one is always ready for the cold days ahead.

Footmuffs

Our deeply padded and fleece lined traditional footmuffs are perfect for keeping those little toes warm. We have footmuffs available for the Zest Vogue, Pop Classic and Pop Vogue. Built with comfort in mind, they have a zip-up design so the top half of our footmuffs can also be removed to leave a fleeced seat liner.

Blankets

Our blankets are the perfect accessory if you’re taking your pram or pushchair for a stroll on a cold day and you want to keep your little ones tucked up for any journey. We have our colourful  striped knitted cotton blanket available in Juicy Tonal and Stripe Tonal, for that extra splash of colour. We also have our single coloured luxury fleece blankets for that extra comfort, available in Charcoal, Lilac, Lime and White.

We would love to see photographs of your little one wrapped up and ready for the snow that’s due in the coming weeks. You can share your photos on our Facebook page and Twitter profile.

Keeping the little ones entertained indoors!

If you’ve been having the odd rainy day and not sure what to do to keep the little ones entertained, we have a few activities lined up! We recommend all our activies are completed under the supervision of adults, with extra care whilst using the scissors, or sharp objects!

“Stay tidy organiser”

Having craft fun, whilst helping your child stay organised, a win-win in our eyes!

What you’ll need:

  • Coloured paper, recycled paper, newspaper or tissue paper
  • Empty laundry soap box
  • Scissors
  • PVC glue
  • Images for decoration (could be a print out of their favourite television character)
  • Pencils, pens, felt tips, glitter

Method:

  • Make sure the empty laundry box is clean and draw remove the lid/top with scissors (adult supervision)
  • Pencil an outline (diagonally across, leaving three quarter of space) on both front panels. You can choose a bubble design or any other design you’ll like)
  • Cut carefully around your pencil design and cut one side panel – resembling a organiser folder
  • Time to decorate!
  • Cover each panel (one by one) with PVC glue and place a base layer of paper, tissue, or newspaper
  • Ask your little one to draw on paper or use previous crafty creations
  • Decorate the box with what you like and place a large name tag (in glitter or felt tip pen)
  • Put your little one’s reading books ready for bedtime reading!

“Creative wrapping paper”

Have that personal touch with home made wrapping paper – perfect for personalising each gift!

What you’ll need:

  • Child friendly paint (you choice of colours)
  • Plain paper
  • Plastic sheet

Method:

  • Place your plastic sheet over your area of play
  • Paint your little one’s hands (or have plate trays with colours for easy dipping!)
  • Print away! You can get creative and use finger painting to make animals or flowers
  • Let the paper dry and use it for wrapping paper!

We would love to hear your rainy day activies on our Facebook page or Twitter. Don’t forget to look at our ‘Sites we Love’ section here on our blog.
