Reports of temperatures dropping and the country bracing for the first cold snap of 2012 – we hope you have your hot chocolates, gloves and woolly hats at the ready! We thought we try and warm things up with a reminder of our extra accessories you can purchase to ensure your little one is always ready for the cold days ahead.

Footmuffs

Built with comfort in mind, they have a zip-up design so the top half of our footmuffs can also be removed to leave a fleeced seat liner.

We hope you all had a wonderful New Year and you’re excited for what 2012 may bring – we know that we are! We have great product launches this year that we can’t wait to share with you.

January is always seen as dark and gloomy (if the weather isn’t enough) but after eating fantastic meals, including the last turkey sandwich and getting through the chocolate tin, it’s no surprise the festive season can take its toll on your health.

Whether you have any New Year’s resolutions or not, we feel that it’s a great way to kick off the new year with these three simple tips to help boost your energy levels and get in a routine.

1. Popping down the shops and thinking of taking the car? Why not take your pram for a walk, also if it’s a clear day, you can wrap up warm and take your pram to the park for a 15 minute walk with friends with their pushchairs and strollers. Not forgetting to make sure your little one is warm and cosy in our luxury fleece blankets.

2. If you’re planning to stay in the house during the day, have your work-out clothes (or wear it first thing in the morning) to be ready for when your little one takes a nap and watch an exercise DVD or free online videos. You can also get in a routine of doing light warm-up stretches. All in the comfort of your own home and at your pace.

3. If you enjoyed doing a sport or hobby, such as swimming or dance classes, find out what is available at your local community centres as the majority of the time you can pay as you go instead of committing to a monthly or yearly fee with a gym membership.

We love Christmas, nothing excites us more knowing that young children will be opening up presents such as our traditional doll’s prams* on the big day!

There are many traditions around the world and we thought we’d share some that we’ve been told over the years!

America

Appartenly, in some parts of America, families spread hay on their kitchen floor and under the tablecloth to remind them of a stable and a manger.

Australia

Imagine having Christmas dinner, not surrounded by a log fire and snow but on a beach! Many Australians (and mainly tourists) eat their Christmas dinner on the beach at midday in the sun!

Spain

In some families, all the shoes left by the Christmas tree are filled with straw or barley. This is to help the tired camels that must carried all the riders through the busy night. By morning the camel food is gone and in place of the straw or barley are presents. Similar to our tradition of leaving out biscuits and milk for Father Christmas.

Netherlands

Instead of the opening presents on the 25th December like we do here, in the Netherlands presents are given and received on the December 5th and the day is called Sinterklaas Eve.

Germany

In Germany, it’s a children tradition to leave letters on their windowsills for Christkind – a winged figure dressed in white robes and a golden crown who comes and gives the children all their presents.

What are your traditions? Please feel free to add your own here on our blog or on our Facebook page!

*Please note that our traditional doll’s pram are currenty out of stock, but we will have more in the New Year.
