Nick Paxton talks about the Harrogate Nursery Fair

Following the Harrogate Nursery Fair which took place from Sunday last week until Tuesday we caught-up with Silver Cross Chief Executive Nick Paxton to get the inside track on the event and Silver Cross’s involvement.

- Hi Nick. You’ve just completed three days at the Harrogate Nursery Fair. How was it?

The show was very successful with customers welcoming the new colours in the Silver Cross Pop range. The Silver Cross Surf was also a big hit – lots of orders and anticipation for launch.

Silver Cross Pop and Silver Cross Surf were undoubtedly our biggest sellers. Pop now has a patented hinge system which eliminates any chance of finger entrapment. As for the Surf, well its just so special, light, elegant, compact to fold and the ultimate ride – our customers could really see the advantages of it!

- We’ve seen a photo of the stand and it looked great. How do you think it compared to last year?

I think our stand and visual presentation gets better each year. We don’t like to over complicate matters, we let the product speak. We like to set-up demonstration areas so that our customers can interact with the products.

- One obvious difference was the addition of the Silver Cross Surf, what kind of reaction did it get?

Amazing! Even our competitors loved it – let’s hope Mums and Dads do too!

- What else caught people’s imagination?

I think the whole brand development was so well received, new designs in toys, highchairs and car seats allow our customers to buy into the brand which is so important to us.

- What can we look forward to seeing on the stand next year?

Ah, that would be telling! More new colours and innovation and more of what we’re good at… straight forward business conducted with a smile!
